Community Organizations
The food bank was first introduced by the City of Bonney Lake to meet the needs of struggling individuals and families in Pierce County. When the city closed the food bank years later, a West Tapps church re-opened it to serve those fighting food insecurity. When the church moved and merged with another church out of the city limits, they helped with the transition to ensure a food bank was formally established to meet the ever-growing need in our community. In 2009, the food bank was formally incorporated as Bonney Lake Community Resources and serves the residents in the city of Bonney Lake, and surrounding areas of Buckley, Carbonado, Orting, South Prairie, Sumner, and Wilkeson. In 2018, the name was changed to Bonney Lake Food Bank to better identify with the mission
